What an Investment
It is not an inconvenience to have to change your plans to meet the needs of your family. When we give our time to meet the needs of another we are making an investment in that person. The action of giving your time may not seem as glamorous as a shiny, new gift but it has the ability to have a lasting impact that is felt for generations, even, centuries. When Jesus stepped away from Heaven to come to the Earth so that we could be saved, He paid the price for our sin. His example compels us to do as He did and make investments of time into people. Whether it is parenting, mentoring, or volunteering when we give of ourselves we should do it with a gladness and joy that expresses the appreciation for the sacrifice of time, by God and others, that has already been made for us.
